Blackstone Cúil will not be booking or accepting offers for live performances going forward.  The band was fully formed in 2012, and while all the members are family to each other always, relocations out of Central Mass area have made it untenable to continue at the level the band aspires to.  We are very proud of our 2015 eponymous album and subsequent recordings; and the good news is that our second full length recording is in the works for release this year and will represent our swan song of sorts.

There are so many supporters, friends, and family to thank.  Roger Lavallee has been our “fifth” beatle in the studio; Mike Harmon & Wachusett Recording has been fabulous to work with; Brad Abusamra our patron allowed our first album to be made at all; all of our supporters at Fiddlers’ Green/The Hibernian Cultural Center including Helen Foley, Kay Tibert, Mary Whidden, Dave Kruczynski, and super fan Phil Dodge, so many more – for giving us a home base; The City Manager’s Office and the Cultural Development Office of the City of Worcester for all of their support; the Celtic radio shows on WCUW 91.3FM; the excellent and generous musicians who have joined us in various capacities; and of course our families for putting up with musicians at all.

Please do come out and see the bandmates performing all over New England  -  Thank you, from:

Myra MacLeod

Steve Harnois

Mike Ladd

John Guertin

Brendan Keenan

Samhraidh, Samhraidh :)

The first quarter of 2017 has some exciting stuff happening with Blackstone Cúil.  Besides performing a Beer Garden show on the Worcester City Hall patio for St. Patrick's Night, a pre-show to the Green Day concert at the DCU Center, look for BC to be playing live on a float for the St. Pat's Parade in Wormtown.  We're also back at Wachusett Recording Studio with the great Roger Lavallee to have some new recordings ready for Spring!  Brother Brendan Keenan and Myra MacLeod rejoin their prior band Fergus for some special shows in the upcoming weeks.  And look for all the BC family to be performing in various other configurations here and there.

The band has been back at Wachusett Recording working with Roger LaVallee on two songs for download only release.  Look for Mick Hanly's "Past the Point of Rescue" and Peter Gabriel's "In Your Eyes" very soon - we're thrilled to include the wicked talents of Brendan Keenan on mando and bazouki, and Brooks Milgate on piano and organ.

Our 2015 culminated in the release of our debut album, which is still gathering steam and critical acclaim (yay!).  But we keep moving and 2016 promises to be even more productive and fun.  We've started recording sessions for what will likely be several releases of one or two songs at a time throughout the year.  We had such a good time last year at the East Durham, NY Irish Festival that they've asked us back for both days and bumped us up to one of the main stages.  We've been working on a bunch of new material to freshen up the live shows too!  Besides the band, our members are keeping busy.  Myra continues her awesome work with the Worcester Folk and Contra Dance Orchestras, which Johnny G. also participates in; Steve has several side projects - Goofyfoot and Luscious Lushes among them - that he plays in, so look for them around town; and Mike performs solo, and wherever anyone will have him, really.  He's also laying tracks for some upcoming projects outside the band.  He's currently writing in the third person - will he be speaking such soon too?  ;)

BC heads back into Wachusett Studio over the fall and winter to work on our next release planned for spring/summer 2016.  We are wicked excited :)

BC had such a great time playing the first Celtic Cool festival at Southwick's Zoo in Mendon, MA, with our friends Erin's Guild and the Tom Lanigan Band.  Instead of a multimedia backdrop, the audience was treated to the cavorting of waterbuffaloes, zebras, and ostriches (oh my).  Up next, the fantastic Upper Valley Music Festival - 1 day, 5 venues, 33 bands in one town; Turners Falls, MA, the site of the recent movie The Judge with Robert Downey Jr.  All the proceeds from this day will be donated to the American Cancer Society.  Come and spend the day at this beautiful event.

John Guertin, Myra MacLeod and Mike Ladd didn't quite find a quiet corner.

The three are experienced area musicians, so when they started together on some tunes there was going to be the sound of guitar, fiddle and drums - quiet, loud or otherwise. ...

Here is an excerpt from the upcoming video of the recent Take Back Your Health, America benefit concert in Worcester. More concerts are being planned for other cities around the country as we speak (so to speak).
Do visit for more info and say hi to Wendy on the Bulldozer Health facebook page.
BTW, this song is the opening track of the new BC CD being released on June 26th.

The gracious host, Nick Noble in his studio tonight at WICN radio with Wendy Edge and Blackstone Cuil. We were there to spread the word about the "Take Back Your Health" event happening this Saturday night at the Elks Club on Mill Street, Worcester.

BC performs live and unplugged on WICN 905FM radio, on Thursday's Folk Revival show between 7 - 10 pm June 4th.  Host Nick Noble will have interviews, live performances, and recordings of the artists appearing at the Take Your Health Back America Benefit Concert for Bulldozer Health, happening on June 6th at Worcester's Mill St. Elks Club.  Tune in to 90.5 FM or listen live at to hear Blackstone Cúil, ARIBAND, Kelly Zullo, and Bulldozer Health's Wendy Edge.
